American Freedom [Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, 7:01 pm]

"Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - It is not the whole truth and nothing but the truth. But the Dover Area School District has begun telling high school science students to consider a second possible explanation for the source of the universe.

It is called "intelligent design."
The new teaching policy makes Dover Area the only public school district in the nation that mentions even the possibility that evolution is not a fact.

The intelligent design "theory" states that the universe is far too complex to have created itself. Some powerful intelligence had to be behind it.

"The revolution in evolution had begun," says Richard Thompson, head of the Thomas More Law Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. "This is the first step in which students will be given an honest scientific evaluation of the theory of evolution and its problems."

Of course, it could be the last step. The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit to outlaw the new policy and force district schools to teach only that evolution is a fact and there is no Creator."

I hope I'm not the only one who sees the hypocrisy in the ACLU's definition of Freedom of Speech.

One thing that strikes me about the American Civil "Liberties" Union is how extremely selective they are when choosing which "liberties" to allow and which to censor. If someone had been fined for an obscenity or pornography violation, you can bet the good ol' ACLU would be right there to back them up and help them continue to better our society by spreading their filth. But if someone dares to suggest that indoctrinating school-children with a narrow, outdated hypothesis that has no scientific proof attached to it is kinda messed up, then all of a sudden they're censored.

Is it right for the court systems to strictly monitor which view children are taught in schools? That sounds like communism to me. What's so wrong with teaching children that there "might" be a Creator? Nothing. Do you want to know why these people are making such a fuss over it? It's really quite simple.

See, members of the ACLU (and many others for that matter) do not want to believe in God. If they acknowledged that there was a Creator, it would mean that humans are NOT all-powerful, but rather are subject to someone who is wiser, stronger and bigger than they are, and they don't want to believe that. That's the only reason why the theory of evolution has survived as long as it has - these people need some kind of a substitute for God - something they think they have control over.

But you didn't hear that from me.
